New Books

We've just received 5 new Titles yesterday. I am sure they are not going to stick around long, unfortunately these days there are not alot of new books being published, so when new ones come out they don't stay on the shelf for long.
I am loving the projects in 'Country's Edge' by Shirley Keonig, there are butterflies, birds and flowers. Barb Halvorson's new book 'Sharing Gifts of Nature Book 4' is in oils but she does give a conversion to Americana in the front which is nice. If you love doing landscapes then 'Brushtiques 5' by Linda Lover is for you, all seasons are represented. If Frogs in Tutu's and Frogs playing baseball are what your looking for then 'The Lily May Pond' by Susan Pisoni is the one you want. If your familiar with Susan's work then you know she loves the whimsical. I love this book, it's great if you have little ones to paint for or if you are just young at heart. I know there is a project in there that I want to do for me. And last but not least is Linda Lock's newest 'Altered Art' florals, fruit and buildings.

Saturday

Another beautiful day here in Ottawa, though just a tad chilly. It was so wonderful driving in to work this morning. The sun was shining and it looked like the angels had sprinkled glitter across the land. The trees and bushes were sparkling in the sun, it was so beautiful, one of the bonuses of living out in the country.

So, this time last year Sharon and I were in sunny California at CHA. Not this year, I am actually staying home pretty much this year except for maybe a couple of wee jaunts. But even though I didn't go to CHA that didn't stop me from shopping. I have just finished ordering all the new Tim Holtz products which you can see on his blog (which you can link to from here, just look on the right side). I also have the new Tattered Angels products ordered and some nice papers from Seven Gypsies. So in the next couple of months be sure to keep an eye here as I will post as they arrive.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Paintworks

I just came back from the post office with the April 2010 Paintworks Magazines, and what a pleasant surprise to open the packages and there on the front cover is one of our own Lydia Steeves Designs. We are so lucky to have her in our own backyard, and on that note if you go to the website http://www.thepaintedpony.com/ and look under mini workshops you will see the Friday night workshop that she is teaching with Joey Bunny. There are just a few spots left.

New Workshop

Where is the month going? already half way through it. The website was updated with new workshops last week and registration is going well. Of course there are a few things that I want to do but am behind. It seems there are just not enough hours in the day.

One good thing is I no longer have to sit outside of Dairy Queen waiting to pick Anastasia up, she got her G2 last week. The downside of that is I no longer get to drive my car and I don't see her as much, miss those catch up chats on the way to or from work.

Here is a picture of the scrapbooking workshop that I have just added in February. It is really fun to do and the workshop fee will include all your supplies. If you would like to register just go to http://www.thepaintedpony.com/ and look under mini workshops. The layout is actually done a 12 x12 gallery canvas so you can hang it on the wall.
Have a great weekend.

Happy New Years

Hope everyone had a great new years eve. Pretty quiet around our house, we used to have a game night for new years eve when Anastasia was younger but now she is off with friends so it is pretty quiet for us. And of course there is hockey on so that doesn't help.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am extending the SALE for one more day, so tomorrow Saturday 9:30-4:30 don''t miss out. Help me lessen what I will have to count for inventory.

I will also be updated the website with Shirley Wilson's projects and registration will be open for that. Also a couple of other projects will be added and then next week the rest of the projects will be online.
